Cut 3 pieces of cardboard with a length of 23cm and a width of 3.8cm and 2 pieces of cardboard with a length of 12.5cm and a width of 3.8cm.

*Tips: In order to make the cardboard stronger, please cut along the grain. Thick cardboard can be cut with a knife first and then cut with scissors.

Use a sharpened pencil to poke holes in the front and middle of the two long boards, and poke holes at the front and end of the two small boards. The opening is at least 1cm away from the edge, and the opening does not need to be large.

Take out a long piece of cardboard, fold it in half, and glue it to the end of the handle, not too close to the end, remember to leave 2.5cm, and then poke a hole in the part close to the cardboard. The rest of the long cardboard is assembled to the handle in a crossed fashion using metal pushpins, and a hole is punched at the end.

After poking the hole, connect 2 short pieces of cardboard and use metal pushpins to assemble and connect the long pieces of cardboard and cardboard.

Note: After using the metal pushpin to assemble the cardboard, remember to fold the pushpin completely flat on the other side and fix it with tape. This step is very important! If the thumbtack is not folded and pasted, it will be easy to loosen!

Attach a rubber band. This is the way to open the artifact. First stretch the rubber band with both hands, and then slide it under the middle fastener. Attach a rope to the fastener. Finally, you can add a rubber band under the handle, so that the pulling will be more stable.

The device is ready for testing! Pull the rope and your device should shut down.

It's time to actually start creating! The basic materials may not be as easy to use. You can use other materials to find out how to improve the grip of the gripper.

Find 3-5 objects of different shapes, weights and sizes. Try to pick them all up easily! You may find that your first design is not perfect. do not give up! Keep trying until your design can easily pick up anything

Once you have overcome these challenges, you can look for other things to continue testing your grabber design.

There can be some simple tasks: such as pouring objects from one cup to another? Or can you write down your name with a marker? Catch the ball in midair? Constantly looking for new ways to push your design to the next level!
